Frequently Asked Questions
What happens in a discovery call?
.A discovery call is a free, no-pressure conversation — usually 15 to 20 minutes — where we talk about what’s bringing you to this work and whether we’re a good fit. There’s no obligation. Think of it as sitting down across from each other to see if the connection is there.
Do I need to know which service to book?
No. That’s what the discovery call is for. Most people come with a feeling, not a plan — and that’s exactly right. We’ll figure out the right container together.
I’ve never done anything like this before. Is that okay?
More than okay. You don’t need a spiritual resume to sit with me. You don’t need to meditate, or believe in anything specific, or have any experience with energy work. You just need to be willing to be honest about where you are.
What’s the difference between this and therapy?
I’m not a licensed therapist, and this work is not a replacement for mental health care. What I offer is intuitive spiritual mentoring, energy work, and channeled guidance. Many of my clients work with therapists alongside our sessions, and I encourage that. Think of it as tending different layers of the same self — therapy tends the mind, this work tends the soul and the energy field.
What are your qualifications?
I’m an ordained Unitarian Universalist minister, certified holistic life coach, and Reiki master with over twenty years of experience in energy medicine. My practice draws on modern shamanism, Buddhist psychology, seidr mediumship, and Druidic philosophy. But honestly? My greatest qualification is the terrain I’ve walked myself — surviving a high-control religious environment, reclaiming my gifts, and learning to sit in the dark long enough to discover what grows there.
Do you work virtually?
Yes. Most of my sessions are held virtually, and they’re just as potent as in-person work. Energy doesn’t require proximity. Spirit certainly doesn’t.
What is Shadow Work?
Shadow work is the practice of meeting the parts of yourself you’ve hidden, denied, or been taught to reject. It’s not about wallowing in darkness — it’s about discovering what’s been growing there. The gifts, the wisdom, the wholeness that live in the places you were afraid to look.
What is psychopomp work?
Psychopomp work is the practice of helping souls transition — both the living and the dead. This might look like supporting someone through profound grief, helping clear energetic attachments, or working with ancestral lines that are asking for resolution. It’s tender, sacred work, and I approach it with deep reverence.
I’m a healer or practitioner myself. Is A Second Sight really for me?
Especially for you. Healers need healers. You spend your days holding space, reading energy, and tending other people’s wounds. A Second Sight session is a place where someone holds space for you — where you can bring your own questions, your own stuckness, your own second-guessing, and have another intuitive offer their sight alongside yours. Think of it as a second opinion on your own second sight.
What if I just want a reading, not ongoing mentoring?
That’s exactly what A Second Sight is for. A standalone oracle reading, channeled session, or soul mapping — no commitment to a mentoring relationship required. You come with a question (or without one), and I share what comes through.
